BOGOTA INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEK 2012, Shows Schedule.

I am very surprised with the number of shows we have this year during SIMB - Bogota International Fashion Week. There are three categories of shows, the first one is called "Salón Futuro" where new talents designers will present their latest collections for Fall - Winter 2012 - 2013. The second category is called "IFLS", only leather brands and designers goes in this one. The last one  is "Established Designers", here you can find the most important colombian designers shows.

Bogota´s fashion weeks have been criticized by the specialized press because they have not been good enough compared with other ones, and it's true!!. The truth is that Bogota is the capital of Colombia,  and I think it's time to have a decent fashion week at least by the same level of Colombiamoda in Medellin. However the Bogota International Fashion Week during its few three versions I have noticed every time is improving and learning more and more, but there are still a lot of things to get better. This year it seems to be good, at least we have important colombian designers shows, and we will also have many shows from new talents which is the most important thing for me.

There are two things I Iike more from Bogota International Fashion Week - SIMB than Colombiamoda:

1. I feel SIMB provides more support to "New Talents Designers", we can check the schedule from SIMB  and you could find 18 shows only for this type of designers; in Colombiamoda you can find 4 or 5 shows for new talents during the whole fashion week, however new designers shows are increasing every year in Medellin.

2. Colombiamoda is full of sponsors, sometimes the sponsors make designers do ridiculous things during the shows just for improve their marketing, In the SIMB there are no sponsors, no stupid videos before the shows, and no visual pollution in every chair of the show. I think Colombiamoda should talk with the Medellin Mayor Office and ask them to do the same thing the Bogota Mayor Office is doing for SIMB; this way they will not need more sponsors in every single show which take away level to the most important fashion week of Colombia.
